Dodge Ram

Not to start another truck war on this site, but just got done looking at a Dodge RAM 3500 dually, very impressive.

Yes Chris, that was the model I checked out, that transmission is very nice.

You have a transmission choice?

Yes, the RAM 68RFE inhouse auto is 600 bucks. The Aisin commercial grade transmission is $2795 or so and the only way to go! To get the 850 foot pounds of torque engine requires the Aisin tranny be selected. So you for 2100-2200 more get the bigger tranny and more under the go pedal. Chris

The Allison 1000 in the GM Pickups in a light duty Allison. The Aisin is a full commercial grade tranny that is closer to the Allison 3000.

They are great trucks. If the tow numbers are true thats great but I would not tow that heavy with any pickup. Get what you like, all 3 brands are putting out great trucks.

I had the Allison 3000 in my GMC Topkick, I found my new GM Pickup with the Allison 1000 is just as strong with a better shift range.
Allison shop tells me the 1000 Allison is stronger then what the engines on the market today can produce.
