Ok I have a FORD F-350 V-8 with all the whisle and bells.
MY question is : when towing should I be towing in third (3) with the towing/hauling button in(operating) or D with the botton for tow/hauling pushed in (operating).
Second question Is there a big difference and if so what way
PLEASE HELP ! ! ! !

You mean that Ford will tow a trailer? !! :D

Depends on the situation, just cruising use D. If working hard on hills or whatever, goto 3.

LOL now thats funny, Linda would have slapped me for saying that. Welcome to the club, use tow mode if you are in a hilly area but if you are just cruising down the freeway you can be out of tow mode. Both in drive is ok because the tranny is locking out overdrive while in tow mode.

Hi M.C.

What year is your truck and do you have the Torque Shift transmission?

I leave mine in OD and tow/haul whenever I have the trailer hooked up. The engine and transmission are both computer controlled and will take care of themselves. Unless I'm climbing a hill or passing someone I cruise down the highway in OD all day while towing.

Don't worry about these guys M.C. They like to flex their muscles now and then, but they are great guys and give great advice, even if they do drive those "other" trucks!

P.S. We drive a Ford F250 7.3 PSD

Now that surprises me. I had always been under the impression that you had a Dodge. I thought I read, way back sometime, that you had made a comment to a picture of Mike's rig that it looked just like yours. Of course that could have been the other Linda. I get so confused! :?

 Indeed! Now I don't know if I'll search all the old messages or just forget the whole thing. Or maybe I'll just go camping!

When I met Jeff, the only difference between his truck and mine, he still had a tailgate... :(
