Are you replacing all 8 pistons? I just re-read the string and see you will be doing major upgrades, obviously doing it right. It ought to be bullet proof when you are done.

The hole in the top came out the side but it looks like it just busted out a small piece.

Looks like you came real close to destroying the block. Cylinder wall has to be scuffed a bit on the one side. Chris

Look at the length of that torque wrench! How much torque do the head stud nuts get? I'm just curious. We had an automotive machine shop in Lee's Summit, Mo. That's what I retired from. I am really interested in your progress. Thanks for the pictures. Roy & JoAnn

Head stud torque is 275 ft/lb it is running again I only have 6 miles on is so far. I had a fuel leak under the turbo at the high pressure pump I had to pull the cab again to fix it (was one loose fitting I did not tighen) but she is running and running quite well I must say.

Great job Dave. I appreciate the photos showing how the engine stacks up. I still do not like the wimpy "O" ring gaskets of the bed-plate design. Mine were replaced under warranty at 35,000 miles for leaks, and are leaking again at 135,000. I am curious how much that rebuild/repair would cost a customer who towed their truck into a shop like yours seeking revival. Your talents are priceless. Glad you are back on the road.
