Linda, The chicken place (Old Country Store) was on Alton Brown's show "Feasting on Asphalt" it is definitely worth the side trip. One that was on DDD that I will go back to (very good) is the Penguin Drive-in located in Charlotte NC, Chilli Burger!!!!! :D :ymhug:

The Old Country Store (the chicken place) is definately worth the trip. We stopped there for a Sunday dinner last November and the chicken is "to die for". The black gentleman that owns the store is also the chef. He also, while the next batch of chicken is cooking, will sing for the customers. It's out in the country and definately should be on your "places to visit".
