2013 Cardinal 3850RL question

Post by Bulldogrver »

I will be going to look at a 3850RL this weekend. It looks like it's in really good condition from the pictures. I don't know much about the Cardinal rigs. Those that have one or have had one what should I be checking out. Are there any problems this model had that I need to beware of . I really appreciate any input. We want a bigger rig than our 2003 Hitchhiker which has been a great rig.

The 3850 was very popular for many years, they did drop the floor plan this year, I ordered my 3850 and love the floor plan.
The only problems that I had was the bedroom slide gear box failed, they had a few fail and upgraded to a heavy duty for the failed ones.
Check out that the slides operate well as they had a few problems with slide brackets bending, this was addressed and corrected fast by having dealers upgrade the brackets, this was a problem on many models not only the 3850.
You will be happy and with the 3850 unit, just look over any unit you decide to buy and check that everything works before signing papers.

We've got a 2017 3850RL and love the floor plan and nice wide stairs to bedroom. It's a heavy beast though. GVWR is just a hair over 16K. I'm sure my rig is all of that for sure.

I also have a 3850 we had a few issues also. But you will have that with any rig, we love our 3850 and we full time in ours. Just check it out and make sure that every thing works. Good luck hope it works out for you, we love ours!
