Possibly a truck for sale

Post by bigbunkhouse »

Some of you may know we are looking into an f550, we have no objections to trading in, the company seems fair and has offered a decent price for the trade.

Yet many times we have sold or needed something that we didn't know was needed or that we needed just after causing the gold old "kick yourself in the a   "

so we figured if anybody may need a great truck to haul anything short of the largest unit, as an upgrade or a first truck, we would offer it before we try to make a deal. It has been wonderful and we will hate to get rid of it, It has th v-10, auto, 2wd, 4dr, dually, 4.30 gears, limited slip axle, 4 new tires last spring, all of 65k miles, tinted windows, tube steps, all synthetic fluids, k&n filter, new brakes (rotors and pads) last year, voyager brake control, 12.5k receiver, visor, bug shield, rain guards, mud flaps, Razor back fairing, white body with blue cloth int

Thats all I remember for now and we'd like about $11k (ok we'd like $18 but $11 is fair and about the trade quote)

PM me for info

thankyou

Not sure about your state but in our state we pay sales tax on the difference between the cost of a new truck and the trade in. If you sell your trade in outright you will pay sales takes on the total cost of the new vehicle. At 7% (or sales tax rate) for $11,000 you need to get an additional $770 when selling it outright.

Just a thought

correct with the tax, we are 5% but we can apply for an abatement to get the diff back.

Great for you, you live in a state that doesn't try an take every penny from you.

Good luck in selling your truck, its good looking. I only wish you were selling it last year when we were in the market.

Wasn't "GrapeEscape" looking for a V10 TV? Maybe he'll want to take a look, although he may get caught in that tax problem again.

It is aftermarket , The lights were bought at napa, they are about 3in long and 1 in tall, they use standard marker light bulbs. I tapped into the running light wire on the frame and soldered them to one wire passing by all of them. They ground thru the mounting screws and are screwed to the flange under the rocker. hope that helps.

That is an 83 el Camino, my friend, who got ordained online to marry my wife and I, is restoring it. He does not have a big enough garage at home so I let him use mine for the body while on the rotisserie, conditionally I get the rotisserie to finish my 66 mustang when he is done.

they were mint, rust free, car came from southern cali. When we had the car soda blasted one had some terrible bodywork/welding from an accident, so it was replaced with one from arizona, He looked for nos for a long time.

I love that generation of camaro! not a convertable fan but still great car, is it yours or are you doing it for somebody?

My buddy, the elcamino kid, works at a body shop so he does the "pretty"stuff while I do the fabrication/mechanical part. He will be taking it to the booth at work to paint it soon, I think the color is called Sunburst Yellow, The chassis is done witha 408 stroker/700 r4, 9in currie, 3 in stainless seamless exhaust (his brother is a radial stainless welder) I'm anxious for it to be done so I can get my stang on the rotisserie.

I have another buddy with an elky, how much does your buddy want for the 1/4's (if he wants to sell them)

It belongs to a customer. Car came out mint! Original colors, red, black and white band on the nose. Tri carb set up off a Vette and solid lifter cam and some valve angle work. Stock BB cast headers, waiting for new SS exhaust.
He also has a 62 ChevyII SS conv. with a Blue Streak 6 cyl/Powerglide that I want to make mine. I have been after him for 4 years to sell it, needs every panel but the bottom and cowel are solid.
I will find out about the 1/4s for you. He bought them for his project and then found another parts car on ebay with a nearly perfect body. Has it media blasted, all body work done, needs paint and reassembly. That is where most loose intrest.

Alrighty,

The 550 is a no go for now, the dealer and I are 2k appart on the deal and neither is willing to move. As far as the hunt goes, we are going to keep our eyes open but we have no 6k trips planned or mountain crossings in the near future so our trusty F350 will have to do until ................................ Hopefully before Yellowstone!!!!!!! :thumbrt: :bounce:

We set that as a goal, to upgrade trucks by then so we can safely traverse the countryside from mass to Yellowstone. I'd ask ya'all to keep an eye out but most would probably buy one for themselves.

So now, new brakes for the dually so as not to pass our destination unwittingly :thumbrt:

I'll keep an eye out for 450s and 550s for you, and not likely that I'd buy it out from under you! :D
