Saw this gem in the rough at a storage yard at Boulder Creek RV Resort in Lone Pine, CA. Wish I was handier. I think it would be a blast to restore one of these. A throwback to simpler times.Image

Hey Marven, there you go. I’ll bet it has no dry rot either.

Wow! I have wanted to see an early Cardinal. Does anyone know, is this one of the first ones? Roy & JoAnn

These were the Cardinals built by Adams in El Monte California from about 1957 to 1972. I saw one that had been restored at a Vintage RV show in Elk Grove California about 5 years ago.

That is an early 60s era trailer. The windows and tail lights give it away. The rear clearance lights are newer generation. Still it is in good shape. Any 1/2 ton pickup can tow it. I’d say it is a 15 footer.

We have seen one of those at the Music Festival we go to in Northern Wisconsin - It was an older Cardinal and I was wondering if it is just a Coincidence that they have the name Cardinal and no real relation to the Company in Indiana that makes these Rigs now.. Anyone know for sure????

No they are not in any way connected to FR. They went out of business in the late 70's or early 80's.

According to olbird Forest River bought Cobra which was the manufacturer of Cardinal and several other brands in 1994/95.
