Fitted Sheets/Mattress Cover

Post by Mapleleaf-mick »

My cardinal has a King size bed and I am having extreme difficulty finding fitted sheets and a matress cover to fit the stock mattress supplied with my Cardinal. The measurements of the existing mattress are as follows:

70 inches wide and 80 inches long

Does anyone know where I can order/buy sheets and a mattress cover that would fit this mattress. What have others done who have a king size bed in their unit. I have put an eider down cover on the mattress for comfort, but it slides around like crazy. I would like to put a mattress cover over top of it and then put on fitted sheets. I am thinking that there must be a manufacturer that caters to us RVers.

Thanks in advance for your assistance and suggestions. As well, thank you for reading my post.

Just a suggestion here, but perhaps you could purchase a California King size (they are 72" X 84") and then take a tuck in the bottom part of the sheets or mattress pad - in other words, cut out a 4" section down at your feet.. The extra 2" could be 'taken up' with a 2" foam piece -- making it more comfy as well as 'filling it out'.... Just a thought! We purchased a house sized Queen bed for ours - no problem with mattress pad, sheets or down duvet.
Good luck in your quest!! I am sure that others with King beds will come along and give you BETTER suggestions! LOL!

Thanks very much for your reply Double D's. Your suggestions are appreciated. Did your unit originally come with a queen size bed?

Yes, it did. We have the King Slide, but have a queen bed at home, and I saw no need for a king BED in the big slide - much more room to walk around the bed with our choice. The queen bed that DID come with it was just as hard as a rock, so as soon as we got home with our new rig, we took that bed out and went to Sam's Club and bought a Serta perfect sleeper. We sleep like a ROCK in that bed!!!! lol! Please post what you end up doing, as it may help others in your situation.

We have a King @ home and six dogs........ :D At least two of them sleep on the bed with us both at home and in the Cardinal......... that is the main reason we went with a King. I have to say though I could sure use more room around the bed. Sometimes it is a real pain making it up. The things we do and put up with for our four legged family members. Couldn't live without them though.

Camping World and many companies on line sell RV bed sheets that are made the correct size in many colors.

This is just one site I found very quick.

Our bird came with the 72x80 king mattress. I use Calif King sheets and thick quilted mattress cover on ours. I also put a 2 in. mem foam on top of mattress. With that the Calif sheets and matt. cover do not slide around. You have to tuck a little more under on sides when making, but it does not slide, works great.
