Our 2004 29RKLE Cardinal has a king size bed and the mattress is not comfortable. The current mattress is a standard size king and it is longer than the frame (not an issue). Thus, not sure if RV came with a standard or RV size king. We have two questions 1.) Just curious what mattress others have bought as replacement and how well you like it. We're looking at both traditional and foam mattresses but not sure what to buy. It's a costly mistake if you buy the wrong one. Ha!
2.)Has anyone replaced their original king with a queen and did it cause any issues? Our RV frame measures out at approx 72" wide. Thanks in advance, Roy

Re: Replacement Mattress
We had ordered our 08 Cardianl with a queen, but it came with a king. We had a nice queen that we wanted to use. Our dealer cut the plywood base down to fit the queen. The queen came with a built-in night stand which they also put in.

Re: Replacement Mattress
We have a Sleep Number bed in our bird. Purchased at Camping World as it is the short Queen, 60X74 to fit when slide is in. We like if very much. Wife keeps wanting one for home.

Re: Replacement Mattress
We ordered our 29RKLE in '06 with a queen mattress in the king slide - and asked the factory to make us a side cabinet to the left of the bed and they accommodated with no extra charge. We brought the rig home, and promptly removed the cardboard mattress that came with, took it to a thrift store and donated it (they were very pleased to get a BRAND new mattress! LOL!), then we went to Sam's club and purchased a pillow top mattress. It was pretty thick, so Den cut the frame down to be a more comfortable height. The mattress was too heavy to be able to be lifted up anyway, so I didn't mind losing the storage under it. Lots of storage in the rest of the rig. So, new stock mattress that is COMFORTABLE!
