Bucking?

Discuss with others about towing. What is the best tow vehicle, hitches, brake controllers, etc, keeping in mind that everybody has his/her favorite.

Bucking?

Post by Rosie F »

Took our first good road trip last to Tunica, Mississippi. I know the roads in Louisiana are not "quality" roads but it felt like we were riding bucking horses. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions to this problem. Thanks cause I know someone will have the solution.

Hi Rosie, I just ordered the Glide Ride pin box from Demco. What I experience on certain roads is pushing and jerking from the truck and trailer fighting each other under certain conditions. If you want to see a video on the Glide Ride here's a link: http://www.glide-ride.com/.

If what you are experiencing is a up-down motion then you may want to look at the Trail-Air or 5th Airborne systems.

BTW, what trailer and TV do you have?

I also wonder what hitch do you have.

I have an all iron hitch made by Pull-Rite. I love this hitch. My friends have a different brand and complain about the jerky motion. I don't have that problem.

From what I understand, the Pullrite's tolerences are tighter, It also has one single wrap-around locking jaw that wraps completely around the pin.

Hitching up is such a dream! All I do is back into the trailer's pin, and the spring automatically locks the jaw and the release handle lands home on it's own. All I have to get out of the truck for after that is to raise the front stabilizers, and put a padlock thru the release handle so it can't unlock.

I will never go back to a bumper dragger again!!

If you order the Glide-Ride, is it easy to install or should we go back to the dealer where we bought the Cardinal to have them install it?

The Glide Ride used larger 3/4"bolts than the 1/2" on my original pin box.

If you are capable of drilling 3/4" holes you should be able to do it.

Mine was an exact replacement. Same size bolt holes an used the same bolts.
