Curt Q5 hitch?

Discuss with others about towing. What is the best tow vehicle, hitches, brake controllers, etc, keeping in mind that everybody has his/her favorite.

Curt Q5 hitch?

Post by bigbunkhouse »

I have a buddy with a 5er (not cardinal) who is not in a club and has asked me about the Curt Q5 hitch, I have zero experience with the hitch or other curt products. The hitch looks nice and is much cheaper than others. Does anybody have any experiences they wish to share?

I have the 20k model hitch. I like the two piece construction it makes it easy to remove from the truck. The positive locking can be seen from inside the cab. The jaws do however clamp around the king pin very tight, need to use alittle grease each time to help with the pin movement. I can not compare it to other brands however

I have a Curt fifth wheel hitch also. I have not had any trouble with it. It does remove in two pieces, but you need two big guys to remove the bottom peice.
