Tow Buddy
I was talking to someone yesterday about a post I seen on here about the Swivel Wheel Trailer and that led into a discussion of something called a Tow Buddy. I searched the forum and didn't see any comments about it so I thought I would ask if anyone had one? The lady that runs the RV park we are staying in says she has one and it works great. Though they do seem to be a little pricey. So does anyone on here have one and if so what is your opinion to it's operation? Is it worth the money?

I know it says currently not available on the web site but thinking ahead in the future if we decided we wanted one.

Re: Tow Buddy
The swivel-wheel is much cheaper, thats why I have one. Also I bought a 5th wheel because I like the handling better than a bumper-pull, why would I want to turn it into a bumper pull? Just my opinion on what works for me, many love the bumper-pulls.

Re: Tow Buddy
What is the reason(s) someone would use a Tow Buddy? Is there any advantageous?

Re: Tow Buddy
For one thing it frees up the truck bed for other cargo. Better be a heavily rated truck though as it does not look lightweight.Traveler II wrote:What is the reason(s) someone would use a Tow Buddy? Is there any advantageous?

Re: Tow Buddy
How much would that thing add to the over all length? One of the things I like about the FW is the shorter towing length vs a TT.

Re: Tow Buddy
We saw one hooked up to an Excursion. I would say that if you had a bunch of people to bring all the time, it would be a good way to use a 5er.

Re: Tow Buddy
From what I've read, it hooks into your 2 inch trailer reciever hitch, so it turns in the same direction as your tv. Really wouldn't be a issue to back up. The issue seems to be what to do when some one hooks it to there Dodge Caravan, and then can't get it stopped!!!!!

Re: Tow Buddy
Seems to me that the market for this thing would be pretty small. Must have a healthy mark-up to make it worth while to build them.
