Hitch for 2010 Dodge 3500

Post by tschmalz »

A friend of mine just purchased a 2010 Dodge 3500, shortbed and is in the process of trying to find a 5th wheel hitch for it. He would prefer the "under the bed rails" set up but is being told they don't make that set up for the new vehicle. They are trying to sell him a set up that clamps to the frame. I have a 2005 Dodge and I know they specifically said you cannot clamp on to the frame. Does anyone have, or know of someone who has a 2010 Dodge and what type of hitch they installed.

Yeah, I thought it was no welding or drilling on the newer hardened frames. Clamping was what you are suppost to do!

Pull Rite makes a no drill application as long as you have the bolt on helper spring perches. They also now have an adapter kit to use Reese rails with their flush mount set up. It comes out to leave the floor flush when not in use

B&W has their turn over ball and then you add the companion. All under the bed. I like plus I can pull a goose neck if needed. It bolts up and is very solid. Not recommended to weld or drill on the new frames unless you know exactly what you are doing. There aren't many places that do including the dodge dealers.

Just installed a 16000 lb. double pivot slider hitch made by HiJacker ( Victoria BC ) in my 2010 3500 4x4 short box Dodge. Bolted right in and fits well.
