Pull Rite CAptive Plate

My Bird has a Fabrex Pin box. Not sure of the model number. The rig is about 200 miles away.

I've got the hitch, rails & custom brackets for my truck.

Now, I need captive plate.

Will the 'Universal', bolt-on captive plate work? Setting up to weld it will be a logistics nightmare.

I don't know what the Universal one looks like. I have mine welded on but have heard the bolt on or clamp on styles will work. As long as it has the "V" to fit into the hitch to allow the hitch to turn and slide, it should work.

The side bolt on plates work the same as the ones that weld or screw from the bottom. You can even add angle to the weld on plate going up the side and make it a removable plate.

Thanks for reply, I'm much more comfortable if it's removable in case of trouble on the road. Not too happy that I will not be able to go and rescue someone else's 5th if they are in grief.

Do yourself a favor and call Pull Rite. They will tell you which capture plate that you will need. Use one of the bolt ons. You will be much better off in the long run.

I agree, I have a Pull Rite bolt on, only way to go.
