Brake Controllers

Post by risham »

I need to know if anyone has had any dealings with "Max Brake" controllers? I have a TruControl gold by Hensley for about three years and the display went out Saturday ( the brakes didn't quit but I unleveled it and now they don't work as well as they should. I am going to get in touch with Hensley mfg Monday and see if I have to buy a new one or if they are able to fix or warranty this one. The trucontrol worked very well until the lights went out but for $250 I think it should last longer than 3 years. Max brake has a five year warranty. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I've had a MaxBrake for several years now and it is great. Since it installs in the brake line and varies the output depending on how hard you are pushing on the brake pedal, you don't have to worry about the control being level.

Was going to buy max brake but found out that they are no longer in business. I bought a "DirectLink" unit. Will post latter after I have stopped a few dozen times with it and tell you if it is worth 350 dollars. the install was plug and play just like they advertised and so far works fine. A few adjustments that i have not set yet but so far so good.
