tow vehicle for 3800FL

Post by Mike B »

Just traded my travel trailer(35 ft) in towards a 2015 cardinal 3800FL, absolutely love it but now I dont think my old truck isnt big enough to pull the new 5th wheel, will a 2500 pull my 3800FL? which is better Gas or Diesel? appreciate any feedback.

Sorry to tell you this but you will need a 1 ton to handle that size trailer, notice I did not say pull, they all pull well.
I would even think of a dually, the 3800 FL is a great trailer however it is very large and heavy.
I also say Diesel but your choice.

I do not think there is a gasser rated to tow that much weight. Diesel dually! Chris

Yup a dually would be your best choice. The pin weights are heavier then posted.

How much air do you carry in your rear tires on your dually.

Get a Diesel! Make sure to get a Dually and check all 3 brands out, they all make good trucks. :thumbrt:

i have one and tow it with my f-350 dually it does good I would also in the future add disk brakes they make a great improvement. F/R should offer disk brakes and 17.5 tires as options.
I just added central vac to mine yesterday. that should also come with at the price of these things.

The central vac days are gone for the Cardinals at least. Dyson battery vacs are now installed.

I like the dust pan on our 3030, and the Dyson might be something I'll add later.

Just not sure either can really tow the 3800FL =)) =)) =))
