You have a transmission choice?snoking wrote:Be sure to get the Aisin Tranny!!! Christeallen wrote:Not to start another truck war on this site, but just got done looking at a Dodge RAM 3500 dually, very impressive.

Re: Dodge Ram
Yes, the RAM 68RFE inhouse auto is 600 bucks. The Aisin commercial grade transmission is $2795 or so and the only way to go! To get the 850 foot pounds of torque engine requires the Aisin tranny be selected. So you for 2100-2200 more get the bigger tranny and more under the go pedal. Re: Dodge Ram
The Allison 1000 in the GM Pickups in a light duty Allison. The Aisin is a full commercial grade tranny that is closer to the Allison 3000.Don Wilson wrote:Chris how does the aisin transmission rate against the Allison in the GM products?

Re: Dodge Ram
They are great trucks. If the tow numbers are true thats great but I would not tow that heavy with any pickup. Get what you like, all 3 brands are putting out great trucks.

Re: Dodge Ram
I had the Allison 3000 in my GMC Topkick, I found my new GM Pickup with the Allison 1000 is just as strong with a better shift range.
Allison shop tells me the 1000 Allison is stronger then what the engines on the market today can produce.
