Ford 7.3 liter diesel owners RECALL
Hey all you 7.3 diesel owners, a new recall issued by Ford for 97 to 2003 trucks and SUVs. An engine sensor is failing and has been held responsible for 12 or more accidents. Check it out we all want you to sfely arrive at destination.

It's just a recall on the Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor. My '97 7.3 gave me problems in when it was 6 years old. It would sometimes stall when I came to a stop. It would start right up and run fine. I had the sensor replaced and never had another stall.
At least you can get it replaced for free now.

Just took Yogi and Big Red out so we stopped at local Ford dealer in town .
You have to make an appointement to have them check the CPS . The guy said not all 7.3 engines are recalled but you have to bring it in to have checked. They sure had a pile of them New 6.4 Lookin Good too
The saleman was on me like (well you know ) I told him just Looking

I'd give those 6.4's a couple of years to prove themselves, newer is not always better. Proven performance is what I always look for.yogi154 wrote:Just took Yogi and Big Red out so we stopped at local Ford dealer in town .

trouble with new sensor
I have seen some people having trouble with the new sensor, If i had the old style and was not having issues i would leave it alone. the old black one seems to be better then there new gray replacement. They are only $28 now I would get one and keep it as a spare in the glove box with a 10MM wrench and a screwdriver to pop the old one out.
