Big three Diesel Shootout
Anyone thinking about getting a new TV might be find this ( http://wardsauto.com/ar/ford_power_diesel_100920/ ) article interesting. I am a total Ford man, but am extremely impressed with the new trucks from all three manufacturers. Looks to me like any of them would be a good choice.

Re: Big three Diesel Shootout
Well good for Ford
but I do disagree on this part: With the trailer attached, the Duramax feels (and sounds) like it needs to work harder than the Power Stroke to do the same job. Under heavy acceleration, the Duramax sounds downright shrill.
In one back-to-back test, the Duramax needs about 2,000 rpm to tow the trailer up a moderate grade. The Power Stroke in the Super Duty conquers the same grade at the same speed at about 1,300 rpm. The Ford engine feels like it is barely working at all. In my real world test with the passes on the west coast and towing over 4k miles so far my fan has only come on two times temp never gets above 205 on the water. Dont get me wrong I am glad Ford seems to have their engine problems fixed and have a good product. These tests kill me, take into consideration where the sweet spot for the cummins, ford and gmc are. They are all different with different trannys so that statement really does not hold much water, with me anyway. But thats what makes the world go round

Can't argue with anything you said, Mike. If I had to pick the best one out of this years models, without knowing who the manufacturers were, it would be a tough choice. However, considering where my retirement check comes from, I guess I will stick with the Ford.

Re: Big three Diesel Shootout
cant go wrong with any of them! Just personal taste, we all have our reasons, mine comes from the fact that it seems that the Ford oval is part of our family crest or atleast it would seem that way with the generations of Ford only mantra. LOL

I had the opportunity this week to test drive both the ford and the chevrolet. Being a dodge owner I feel I have an unbiased opinion and I must admit I was so impressed with the 2011 chevy that I placed an order for one.

I'm with you man, that is a good article and it's good to see the new Powerstroke getting excellent reviews as people put more miles on them. I will be looking to trade my 6.0 in on one this time next year.

Re: Big three Diesel Shootout
Yes, I looked at the install instructions and that is how the new frames are built, glad to to see they came out with a mount kit before to many 2011truck owners had their trucks with no way to pull.
