Not exactly Jeff, that stick coming up from the floor tells me 10 or 13 speed. Mine will have a touch panel ultrashift with no clutch pedal. The truck body is right though and 2Ls owner will personally go select a good one as there is about 200 available. He can get them for $40K each so how many do you want? All eligible for 2 yr 500K miles warranty.Chief409 wrote:I couldn't resist checking around, and if your "Critter Carrier" is anything like this, OH I'm jealous.![]()

You're tempting me ...
But, what we have now is on the large side for State and USFS campgrounds, which are some of our favorite destinations. I do like the pictures on 2L's website of the green KW HDT conversion, says alot about how proud they are of their work when they post close up photo's. Will yours have the 78" sleeper?

Re: New tow vehicle car carrier on the way
Most likely a 72"sleeper and we will have to look for long sites or stay in 2 sites in TX state parks, but we travel so much I have really been able to find long spots at most places. If we wanted to stay short might be able to attach a class B for excursions!Chief409 wrote:You're tempting me ...

Tip a glass of diesel to Miss Ellie, she's been a good truck. Well, maybe not diesel.campswithcritters wrote:Pictures will be in the future. Last day driving Miss Ellie with the trailer today, Houston here we come.

Re: New tow vehicle car carrier on the way
You and Mike can have a race up the Blue mountains, he can pull 70 MPH with the new truck.
53-55 top speed any hill for me, I just take my time.
How many average miles do the Select Trucks have on them, I was looking and they were all up in the 400,000 - 500,000 mile range.
Do they warrant two years and 500,000 miles over that.

Re: New tow vehicle car carrier on the way
Bruce I just have one question about the sleeper "Why would you get a sleeper when you are pulling a 40 foot motel room behind you?" There would be more room for the smart car without the sleeper and you could keep the fifth wheel plate more over the axles and not have to be concerned about turning radius.

Re: New tow vehicle car carrier on the way
Yes George it will have between 400K & 500K and yes they do warranty 2 yr & 500 K above that. They have a very tough testing process including analysis of all fluids, dyno runs etc then give it all new fuids, hoses, belts etc. That is why the initial cost is about $10K than other trucks.Olbird wrote:You and Mike can have a race up the Blue mountains, he can pull 70 MPH with the new truck.

Will Mike & I be towing similar loads during the race? Can I carry the car during it just to show off?

Well now thats talking apples to apples I have a question, your warranty so how does it work they cover everything for the first two years then like power train up to 500k? Or is it whichever comes first? Sometimes ya just need to beat it into me

Don
1. Need a place for the dogs
2. In the future I will likely outfit it to be a mini RV that can take off on it's own into places a big rig might not fit. Inverter etc and likely a 30 amp shore power hookup.
I really would like the hitch far back also as the trailer will respond more like a bumper pull and not cut in so sharp. Just got to watch I don't get so long that I attract the eye of the LEOs (law enforcement Officers) for being over length which I will be by a couple feet. I might mount a holland head in front of the trailer saver in case I ever do have a problem with the law, unhitch, take car off, rehitch at forward position.

Re: New tow vehicle car carrier on the way
It is a which ever comes first Mike, I do not think I will buy the warranty just trust in the fact that they are sure enough of the truck to offer it. Better to save my money up for the first oil change as that 14.9 liter engine holds 14 gallons of oil!Mike Clay wrote:Well now thats talking apples to apples I have a question, your warranty so how does it work they cover everything for the first two years then like power train up to 500k? As to that race up the hill let's hook em both up to about 40 or 50 thousand pounds and see who is waiting at the top.
