Well Jeff hope to have it in front of this camper in around 2 weeks. The maiden Voyage will be within 300 miles or so of home as a test pull, first big trip scheduled at end of May/1st of June to the UP of Michigan for the summer.
They are still body working the bed which needs painted after that, and the truck not liking to start after sitting overnight so it will go in to find where the fuel system is sucking air and get a new set of batteries.
If anyone ever needs custom bed work or custom paint on their truck I highly recommend 2L Custom Trucks, nothing but the best there.
If anyone was wondering from the paint pics, the white is all factory and the blue was added by 2L.

Well I still gotta work to buy the diesel for that thing, so I will only be there for about 2 weeks, Sharon will be there for 8 weeks. Looks like Iron Mountain has a couple nice private parks so that will be base camp. Will travel one way (either up or down) through the mainland of Michigan.

Well got more solid on delivery date now. Supposed to take the Smart to Poolville TX on Tuesday next week for final fit and placement of wheel chocks and tie down points then rhino-line of the loader floor (bed major assembly in primer now and painted/rhino-lined by end of this week. Could be down here in Houston area as early as Thursday night/Friday. If all goes well with that the maiden voyage will be very shortly after that. Only one problem right now, the truck is back at Freightliner right now as it needs some new fuel system check valves (does not like to start easily after sitting overnight).

So the truck is getting close. Today I was going to get a water pump for the camper (weeping backwards when on shore water filling fresh tank every 2 weeks) and sitting at a stop sign in the Smart and wham rear ended by a woman who was already stopped behind me. Just a really small paint scuff at the bottom of rear bumper panel and a lost decorative plastic plug. She was lucky I was not in the Crittercruizer or I might have thrown it in reverse and ruined her whole day flattening the front of her Lexus! Why can people not pay attention? We were both stopped & I had not moved just waiting on traffic.

Dad pulled in behind someone at the curb to go to the Post Office, driving the Cornbinder short logger with a load of logs. Red curb behind him for the corner. A Bug pulled in, behind the truck, under the logs, almost touching the pintle hook. But still in the "No Parking" zone. Dad came out of the Post Office, threw the truck into reverse. You can fill in the rest! MY favorite is "Stomped Bug".

A few years back when i towed a trailer I had left the hitch in the receiver for what reason I don't know because I always took it out but not this time. Well I stopped at an intersection and a younger woman behind me didn't and wham, right into the back of my one ton van. I thought the worst. Got out and looked and not a mark anywhere, her front end, totaled. I asked what she wanted to do because it didn't matter to me, she picked up some pieces, threw them into her car and left! Every after that I always wondered if I should take the hitch out!
