Yes sir, 12 - 13 MPG pulling that load. That's excellent, looks like you have a keeper there.

So far Randall I'm very happy with the truck. We're taking the bird out again on Thursday for a local trip about 110 miles away.

Rob, I was just looking at the 2012 Diesel Supplement Manual and saw this in the SCR/DEF section, look at the Note:

• DEF filling station nozzle fill:
Filling the DEF tank using a nozzle is similar to a normal fuel fill. The
nozzle will shut off automatically when the tank is full. Do not continue
to fill the tank as this may cause spilling and overfill the tank which can
cause damage.
Note: Some filling station nozzles may prevent filling of your DEF tank
due to a magnetic mechanism in the nozzle. This is not a problem with
your vehicle. To refill your tank either locate another filling station or
use a bottle to refill the tank.

My milage on my last tow 212 miles 18.93 gallons (11.2mpg). All interstate, cruise set at 65 and no flat ground between here and New Philidelphia Ohio. I have 4,800 miles on the truck. I have not filled the truck since returning but the mpg read out said 9.4. I believe that it is close because there were strong winds and rain all the way back. I also believe that some fuels are better than others.

Rob on the tranny temp of 194 seems high is this while your towing or all the time. Checked mine today after 100 miles of in town and freeway and it was running 120 degrees.

I found that to be true this summer. I filled up twice at the same truck stop and saw my MPG drop by 1.5 MPG. Figured out the problem when I quit stopping there and the MPG went back up.

That would explain it Jeff as it acted just like it was full.

That's what I thought too Mike but the guys on the 6.7 forum all said that 194* was perfectly normal for this new TorqueShift transmission.

This is what i got from one of the moderators on the forum:
"unlike many previous transmissions these use an oil-to-water cooler as well as a thermostat to ensure that it gets up to temperature. Your tranny temp will stay that hot if you're just empty or pulling 20,000 lbs."

I haven't really checked but I think that the trans is in the same cooling system as the egr and all of the other aux systems. I know that there are 2 cooling systems, and I think that the engine is the only thing cooled by the primary system.

Yep, same here Randy. In fact my first service is free but I still have a ways to go. I was just trying the DEF out of curiosity.
