John, what mileage are you seeing with the same truck as mine with the extra two wheels we dragging around.
I am hoping the highway miles will get a little better as the truck gets more miles on it, I have just over 3,900 mile.

ROFL stop with the 20 lb boost launches. I am interested in what John gets also, winter fuel kills my in town mileage. I am now getting 13 in town and 18 to 19 on highway, I have noticed with both Chevys mileage goes up around 18k miles.(26,000 miles on it now) But like I said before seems to be the same mileage for empty, in town and towing as I have gotten from all the Dodges and both Chevys since 1994.

Its the teenager in me, I love the 20 lb boost launches it feels good.
My last highway milage running empty trip was to your storage building last week and I got 14.8 shown on the trucks computer dash readout system, winter fuel.
I think I can remember last year seeing 19 or better on summer fuel.

If that was from a full tank with no in town driving its a little low, if you drove in town for a while it takes forever for it to come up while on the freeway. I just logged on to Onstar and my overall for the truck in the last 1 1/2 years is 13 mpg so it is what it is I guess.

My mileage varies. Last Tuesday 3 of us hooked up the boat / trailer (2,600#) and travelled 190 to the river and 190 miles back. I filled up on the way 2 miles from the house. Round trip mileage of 14.6 and that included one regen. All but 30 miles are freeway. I ran 74 mph (fish can't wait forever 'til I get there) on the cruise. Around town with no freeway driving I average 14.5. I drive like grandma. I have 25k miles on the truck

George, not more kid in me. I have and had cars that can pull wheelstands on the street. So 20# of boost in a 8800# dually ain't s!!t. :))

Driving habits mean a lot when it comes to fuel milage. One of my friends has the exact same truck as mine. He consistantly get less milage than I do. He gets 3 mpg less unloaded and 2 mpg less towing. He is towing a 8000lb TT. He admits that he has a heavy foot.

Yep and you get over that 70 mph mark it goes down. I have gotten 22.7 on the freeways here but the limit is 65 mph now going up to see George its 70 mph and my mileage goes to 19. All this on summer blend, winter blend is about 1 to 2 mpg less.

I get 13.9 mpg overall (it went up 0.1 from the 13.8 mpg I was seeing) since fill up #1 5 months ago, so that appears to be a good ballpark figure. For me, I was cruising at 75 empty, until the prices shot past $4.00. Now I cruise at 65 and seeing a 1 or 2 mpg improvement. And I'll tow at 60 vs 65, I just can't do 55!

Onstar does not show 1/10 so I don't know where I am. Thinking I'm probably at the 13.9 since it jumps back and forth from 13 to 14 for over all mpg. Wish it was better but not much you can do about it towing around 23,000 gross weight. Looks like the Fords and Chevys are pretty close from what's being reported. Well with the exception of Robs truck =)) sorry just yanking your chain Rob.

Remember, my figures are for a DRW 4x4 with different gears then Rob's. I think mine are 3:73 and Rob has 3:55 diffs. And mine is a bit heavier.

I wonder how the folks with F450 6.7 diesels are doing in the mpg dept. I haven't looked at the Ford sites for a month or so. When I do, I toss the high and lows that I've seen claimed.

that's true John, but it's kind of cool to poke a big bumper ahead of a 5.0 Mustang light to light. Not that I've ever done that before :ymblushing:

Thanks for all the replies. I have made up my mind to purchase the truck. I have one picked out. Just waiting a couple of weeks. Wife gets bonus at work middle of April. She has agreed to make large down payment if I will wait. Thats a no brainer on my part.
