Edge Insight

Discuss with others about towing. What is the best tow vehicle, hitches, brake controllers, etc, keeping in mind that everybody has his/her favorite.

Edge Insight

Post by Mike Clay »

Just wanted to update those who have the insight and are driving a truck using DEF. It still does not show a true reading on mine even with the update in software a few months ago. But what it does do is when you are down to about 2 gallons of DEF and accelerate from a stop it will drop down to about 93% and if you take off like Olbird :d it will drop to around 66%. I have not put any in since before we left for the Moab rally.

We put 3200 miles on the truck for the Moab trip and by the time we got home the truck was showing the DEF level at less than half full. It took a full 2.5 gallon jug.

I had two gallon jugs left so put them in and still not full so I am sure it is still about a gallon low. That will last me until I take off at the end of February.

Speaking about the end of February, how long do you expect to be on the road before you return home?

When I use the remote start I have to turn the key off and then back on to get the Edge to work. Their last update was to fix that.

Got some dirty fuel. Last regen was 400 miles. Flying J must be cleaning out their tanks.

Yup same here John except there are times I have to unplug it from the port to make it work again. So I do not use the remote start to often.

Boy I wish when not towing I can go 280 miles and when towing 800 miles. Mine has been in the 280 club since new.

I did a GMC software update that allows me to run my boat hitch WITHOUT having to turn off the rear sensors. AND it works. :thumbrt:
