We've stayed at Ancient Oaks RV Park, Rockport, TX. Nice park. We would return.

Stay away from the state parks in that area, they are eat up with sand spurs, and being a native plant of this area all they can do is cut them with mower, which makes it worse. Our two dogs, after two days would not go out side for the stickers....... PS. down here they call them goat heads

Choke Canyon SP south of San Antonio for wild life. Ask for a back-in on the circle, watch out back window a half hour before sunset! Many strange birds, deer, wild turkeys, etc.

I'm currently looking at Pioneer Beach Resort based on RV Review. Anyone been there?

We stayed at the Gulf Waters RV resort a few years ago. A little on the pricey side but might be the nicest park we've ever stayed at. Easy walk to the beach and the drive to Corpus Christi is pretty easy. The Aquarium is very nice and the aircraft carrier museum is in close proximity. It was four years ago that we stayed there so I can't say how it currently is. Go to their website and check it out.
