The new Fords are absolutely awesome, that is one nice looking truck. I'm keep fighting the temptation, I'm trying to hold off for another year.

Re: New 2011 Ford F350 in the driveway
I've got just over 15,000 miles on mine and it got 18.8 for the last 1,500 miles according to the trip indicater. A single tank of DEF also lasted for the 7,500 miles between oil changes, so I'm very happy with it. I am also very happy with the way it pulls my camper, plenty of power and torque. It has been a long time since I had black interior, it must be making a come back because alot of the trucks have it now. I am starting to remember how hard it was to keep it clean. There is only 300 miles on it and I haven't towed anything yet but it feels like it will do a good job. The onboard milage indicater says that it is getting 16.9 mpg, if it is close it will be good.

Re: New 2011 Ford F350 in the driveway
To Randy or anyone else with a 2011 Ford F350 4x4 w/SRW:
Did your 2011 SRW come with 4" rear spring spacers vs the 2" that comes on a DRW? I have been getting the itch to order a 2012 6.7. I have a 2008 F350 Crew Cab 4x4 LB V10 with only 33,000 miles that has never been back to the dealer since I took delivery. Excellent truck and the V10 is a towing monster however I think maybe I should own at least one diesel in my lifetime. The reason I ask about the spacers is that I sat two inches high off level and I wanted to maintain plenty of clearance between the bed rails and the trailer so couldn't lower the pin box or hitch any more. I ended up having the dealer order me the 2" spacers and new U-bolts and changed them out. Did the job and has worked perfect. I have not been to my dealers and even looked at a 2011 but have been doing a "price and build" for a 2012 on Ford's web site.
Just curious. Thanks
Don

Randy, what are you getting for MPG towing. I'm "this close" to pulling the trigger on a F350 FX4 DRW with the 3:73 limited slip diff.

Re: New 2011 Ford F350 in the driveway
The SRW has the 4" spacers and actually sits higher than the DRW. I lowered the hitch to it's lowest point and have plenty of bed clearance. I have a Reese 16k with a slider.
I am getting 10-11 mpg towing in the WV hills and 17-18 without the trailer. I still only have 2500 miles on the truck. I am sure that it will get better. I tow with cruise on at 70mph. I have the 3.55 rear gear and plenty of power. The truck will shift to 5th gear on the hills and maintain 70mph. It has shifted to 4th a couple of times on some long steep hills. When using cruise it will also maintain the set speed going down hill.
The last time out I did not notice the over steer that I thought I had. Maybe it was just me the first time out. I did check when I hooked up and the truck drops 2" in the rear and none in the front.

Re: New 2011 Ford F350 in the driveway
I've had mine for just over a year and get just over 12 MPG towing and 20 empty. Mine has the 3.31 gear and still has plenty of low end power.

Re: New 2011 Ford F350 in the driveway
Well just had to get rid of the itch so I ordered a new 2012 Ford F350 Crew Cab XLT SRW LB 6.7 Diesel, white with steel interior this afternoon. I am trading my 2008 V10 F350, which has been a super truck and only has 33,000 miles, but I figured everyone should own at least one diesel in their lifetime.
I ordered the 5th Wheel prep kit and am going to keep my present hitch which is not a Reese so within the next two months will have to get an adapter plate. Hope some more companies in addition to TrailSaver come up with an adapter that is less money.

I am sure that you will be very happy with the power of the diesel.
