Man it does not matter which brand site you go on it gets depressing. Use to be you could buy a new truck a feel pretty confident it will get you to where you are going. Now a days you read any of the sites and there are so many problems with turbos, trannies, DEF. and the list goes on. You pay a lot of money for these trucks and it seems there is such a war anymore that some items are not tested as well as they should be just to get a product out. Yes I have had a few problems with my Chevy so went to the Ford site and did not feel any better. Sometimes I think I should have kept my 2004 Dodge until the wheels fell off.
This is my feelings and not meant to get anybody all riled up and start a truck war. If your truck is problem free great but not all of us Chevy, Ford, Dodge owners are so lucky. Maybe I need to go buy a Tundra since it can pull the space shuttle

The thing is these new trucks have become so complex that you should not own one without a warranty! Either dump it before the warranty expires or get a good extended warranty, as there is not much the average guy can do under the hood anymore. And they are very expensive to work on.
Making noise with my old 2001.5 is sounding better all the time. If I got a bigger trailer, I would seriously consider a class 7-8 used tractor.
Very true Chris, the very reason I dump them anymore when the 5 year 100,000 mile is about to expire. The older Cummins was so easy to work on. Now you open the hood and go wth is all of that.

Yep, that's why those forums exist. You have small-small percentage of owners with a problem or two and they have a huge soapbox or soapboxes to point out their issues thanks to today's technologies.
I agree with Rob. I have the new 6.7 Ford diesel with 9000 miles and the only thing that I have done is have the oil/filter changed. There are 1000s of satisfied customers with this same engine but if you read the forums they make you believe you can't even get it out of the garage? Those satisfied customers don't post.

Well as some of you know I traded my 2001 f350 DRW 7.3 engine for a 1998 Volvo nv610 and am happy with the deal. The n14 Cummings came with a 500,000 warranty, but most are good for 1,000,000 miles, service required once a year or 30,000 miles. I also get better mileage with this truck than with the ford, it does don't know the RV is back there. Be cause of the age, very little EPA requirements, no DEF, and at 65 miles per hour the tac runs about 1400 rpms. just though you might be interest. See you guys in Kerrville........Capt Jim

I can do better than that mike, I'll take you for a ride. I do think we are committed, I never do any thing half way. Oh did I mention it takes 250 gal to fill the fuel tanks, yes mucho dinaro, but aprox. 2500+ miles, that I like............Capt Jim
