Benson-Tombstone AZ

Anyone have any positive comments on the rv parks in Benson-Tombstone area.? I've read a lot of neg comments and a few positive ones when I Google RV Park Reviews for these areas. We had thought about using the Benson area for 3 or 4 days as a home base while we visit the area including Tombstone, Bisbee and wherever else. From what I've read, I'm now thinking about using Tucson as a home base and although not looking forward to it, drive the 2 hrs. to Bisbee. Any comments?

We haved stayed in Benson at the KOA a couple of times and have always had a pleasent experience. It beats driving from Tucson on a daily basics. There is a lot to see in the area, and we recommend staying in the area. No matter how good a campground is, there are always a few who don't like it.

Check out Tombstone Territories RV outside Hauchuca City (just north of Benson). We stayed there last winter and loved it, it is out in the high desert, peaceful and quiet. The sites are huge with great views. It is about 25 min. drive to Sierra Vista, 10 min. to Tombstone and about 30 min. from Bisbee. We have reservations for Jan-Feb 2013, maybe will see you there.

Thanks to all for your comments. We are not going to commute the 2 hrs each way and get a place closer as suggested in your replies. Should be in the area around Feb 15th for a few days.

I know this may be to late, but there is a nice RV park at The Karchner Caves State Park, S of Tucson, fairly close to Tombstone and Bisbee, South on AZ 90. Good Luck

check out the Escapees park very nice,we stayed there for a month last year.
