Maybe they will be able to service this new engine without removing the cab from the chassis like the 6.4. Chris

Now starting over again, we will have to see what the next few years brings! I will let somebody else do the testing and proving before I trust it. Sounds like they did their homework but I am sure there will be bugs. Imagine going to NAPA and asking for "exhaust fluid"

I would think cab would have to come off. 6.0, 6.4, both have to come off. As far as exhaust fluid goes, all the diesels will have it. I read some where that it would be minimal use and some are testing with water.

Maybe they could just make it so you could fill the urea tank other ways

Mike, please do that in your garage, not on the side of the road!Mike Clay wrote:Maybe they could just make it so you could fill the urea tank other ways

Trouble with waiting a couple years is that if they follow their pass practices, then there will be yet another new engine in a couple years! Seems like they should have stayed with the 7.3 and made it work. Or bought the rest of Cummins when they owned a small part of it years ago (I think it was 9 percent).bigbunkhouse wrote:Now starting over again, we will have to see what the next few years brings! I think I'll wait 2-3 years to see if this engine lasts!

After 4 ford diesels I am not anxious to try another one. The 7.3s were great. That '04 model 6.0 was enough for me for a while. I forgot to mention that my Mother retired from Ford so I can buy with employee's discount, but I'm still not ready.

Re: Ford's new 6.7 liter Power Stroke
I got the promo that Ford emailed and not only a new diesel, there is a new gas engine plus a new heavier transmission (no more manual tranny too). Also the trucks are supposed to be around 400# lighter. According to the promo Ford has Halliburton in the Rockies, plus Florida Water and Power running the new diesels for user tests over the winter. There is one video of a Florida Water and Power SD dully running thru water so deep it's over the top of the tires. I don't think I'd try that with my SD. I have the power seats!
