2011 Trucks
Has anyone ordered a 2011 truck? If so, what make and model?

Haven't ordered one, yet. But, as Jimmy Carter would say "I have been lusting in my heart".

Re: 2011 Trucks
Kinda hard to figure out the direction that trucks are headed. Vehicle sales have been hit very hard the last two years, and all three major US truck companies refresh their offerings adding around 10K to the price. Seems like they are openning the door to an offshore 3/4 and 1T truck that under cuts the US market. Toyota already had the body, all they have to do in put on a heavy duty frame with larger axles and slap a nice I6 diesel in it, price it at 40K and be king of the hill.
With not a lot of new people entering the RV market, there is not a big demand for new tow vehicles and I think a lot of people will hang onto what they have much longer. Our Dodge is 9 years old next month, but only has 85K on the clock. So it is going to be around for many more years unless I win the loto!

Re: 2011 Trucks
I'm not planning on getting a new truck, or trailer myself. When I got the '09 F350 dually Tow Boss I intentionally bought way more truck then is required to haul a 12400# 5er reasoning that it should last for a long time because it wouldn't be working all that hard and the 6.4 diesel had been out long enough to get the bugs worked out. And both should be "Free and Clear" by the time I retire!

Re: 2011 Trucks
My 2011 F350 should be here in a week or so.
Since this is the first time I've posted to this forum, I should give you a bit of background. I work for Ford so take everything I say about how great the new truck is with a grain of salt. I'm biased.
But I am really looking forward to getting the new truck. I've oredered it with all of the new RV friendly features (nav system, LCD productivity panel, factory installed 5th wheel hitch, back up camera, ...) so I'll try to keep you posted on what I think is worthwhile and what is fluff.

Re: 2011 Trucks
I think it would be about $50k with my discount. I'm not really sure because I ordered it on an employee lease program, so I don't know what the purchase price is. Since it is a major upgrade, they gave us an even bigger discount this year so I'm able to try out all of the bells & whistles at a reasonable cost. That's the good news, the bad news is that it's only a 1 year lease so next year I'll have to decide what I'm really willing to pay for those bells & whistlesbayoubengal wrote:Russ,

Re: 2011 Trucks
The list for my '09 was around $50K, discounts, trade in, etc put my out of pocket at $30K. You won't be disappointed with the factory 5er hitch, as it's the Reese Signature 18K I think. Which is the same as I got for the '05 F250 and moved to the F350 without having to buy anything new, the mounts and attachments are the same. And it is a good tight hitch.
Looking forward to seeing the pictures!

Re: 2011 Trucks
Right now I'm not towing, the bird has her wings clipped until the new truck arrives. I had to turn in my '09 F350 in April so I'm driving a 4 cyl. Escape and even tho I put the hitch in the back of the Escape (really it's in the back) I don't think the 4 banger will tow the camper

Russ,
Feel free to stop by and park it under my Bird. Would like to see how it looks.
