Re: Big boys trucks
Yes it is very heavy and I did find out equal water weight equals the same pounds off the pin. I put 300 lbs of water in today and my pin was exactly 300 lbs lighter. No not all of my mods are in yet. My problem is I am very close with my gcvwr so I am afraid I will be making a change. Kind of sucks since I really like this truck. Not to mention with this heavy of trailer the stability is not there anymore.

So that means your water tank is exactly the same distance behind the axles as the king-pin is ahead of the axles?Mike Clay wrote: I put 300 lbs of water in today and my pin was exactly 300 lbs lighter.

Re: Big boys trucks
Ha ha ya I did it actually signed papers on Tuesday but still have not seen the truck since they had to bring it down from Mt Vernon WA. I will be going in this morning to hopefully drive it then they will be installing my hitch and step and should have it later today. Once I am sure its mine I will post pics. Wanted to sell my truck out right but I could not in good faith have somebody I know pay for what I got for the trade plus incentives. I had to make the deal on the spot since there are not many 2013 duallys left around here.
Yup its white this time around and still did not really want to do this since my truck has been so good. But the stability was a problem pushing the truck to the limits. I keep this up I will need to go back to work.

Congrats on the new truck. I'm sure she'll be a beauty and you'll have one great looking combo.

Re: Big boys trucks
I think you did the right thing Mike. Dually will give you more stability and the ride will be much better than a class 6/7 truck. You'll have just as much torque and pulling power (I think) and you spent a heck of a lot less money and you'll get better fuel mileage! I'm sure you, Suzanna and Rudy will enjoy the new Truck! I think Red would have been nice tho.... Congratulations!

Re: Big boys trucks
So Jim how much do you want for the 610. Somewhere between 25 and 30K? Then you can go buy a new dually for 55-60K, and I can be a happy camper driving a big RED truck.jrshuman wrote:I think you did the right thing Mike. Re: Big boys trucks
Sounds tempting Chris. But... I think I'll just hold on to it for another 400,000 or 500,000 miles. Then we can talk again!

Well I guy can try! I good Volvo with 400 or 500K mikes left in it is half the price of a new pickup!jrshuman wrote:Sounds tempting Chris. But... I think I'll just hold on to it for another 400,000 or 500,000 miles. Then we can talk again!
